What is StarNexus Monographs?

StarNexus Monographs is a scholarly book series published by StarNexus Science Press, focusing on in-depth, cutting-edge research in arts, communication, digital media, intelligent medicine, education technology, and digital economy. Each monograph provides a comprehensive examination of a specialized topic by leading researchers in the field.

Is StarNexus Monographs a legitimate publication series?

Yes. StarNexus Monographs is published by StarNexus Science Press, a legally registered non-profit academic publisher in Hong Kong. All monographs undergo rigorous peer review, are assigned DOIs through Crossref, and are made available under open access licenses.

Are StarNexus Monographs open access?

Yes. All monographs published in the StarNexus Monographs series are gold open access. They are freely available to readers worldwide under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Submission & Review

How do I submit a monograph proposal?

Proposals should be submitted through our online submission system. Please visit the StarNexus Monographs website and click the "Submit Proposal" button. You will need to create an account if you are a first-time user. Your proposal should include an abstract, chapter outline, and author details.

What is the peer review process for monographs?

We use a double-blind peer review process. Each monograph proposal and full manuscript is evaluated by 3-4 independent reviewers. The first decision is typically made within 6-8 weeks of submission.

Is there a submission fee?

No. There is no fee for submitting a monograph proposal or manuscript. Publication fees (BPC) are only charged after acceptance.

BPC & Fees

What is the BPC for publishing a monograph?

The standard BPC (Book Processing Charge) is 800 USD. However, we offer special discounts for inaugural volumes, role-based discounts for series editors, and full waivers for the top 40% of accepted proposals. Please refer to the specific series BPC policy for details.

When do I need to pay the BPC?

BPC is invoiced only after your monograph has been formally accepted for publication. You will receive an invoice along with the acceptance notification.

Are there discounts or waivers available?

Yes. Discounts are available for Series Editorial Board Members (40% off), Associate Editors (60% off), and the Series Editor-in-Chief (100% off). Additionally, the top 40% of accepted proposals in each series receive full BPC waivers.

Ethics & Policies

Does the series follow ethical publishing standards?

Yes. StarNexus Monographs follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices. We use iThenticate for plagiarism screening and investigate any suspected misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines.

What is the copyright policy?

Authors retain full copyright of their work. All monographs are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing users to share, adapt, and build upon the work with proper attribution.

Can I post my monograph on a preprint server?

Yes. We welcome submissions that have previously appeared on recognized preprint servers. However, the final published version cannot be posted on preprint servers.

Editorial Board

How can I join the Editorial Board?

We welcome applications from active researchers with a doctoral degree and a strong publication record in their field. Please send your CV and a cover letter indicating your areas of expertise to acdm@starnexus.press.

What are the responsibilities of a board member?

Board members are expected to contribute approximately 8-12 hours per year, including 2-3 peer reviews, 1 invited editorial column, and 1-2 promotional activities. Each board member is supported by 1-2 dedicated in-house editors.

Can I withdraw from the Editorial Board?

Yes. Board members may withdraw at any time for any reason. We respect your decision, update the website list promptly, and express our gratitude for your contributions.
